Process and Purpose.
We are Scott and Tracy Hess, owners of the homestead; we are small business owners and real estate entrepreneurs. We were fortunate to purchase this rundown, neglected property during the C-19 shutdown in March 2020. Seeing the fine craftmanship, hard work of carpenters past, and immense potential, we are seeking to restore this farm to its former glory, while bringing it into modern times. We work with our hands and connect with other skilled workers as needed. We trust this renovation project, the largest we’ve ever tackled, will be an improvement to the surrounding community and to our beautiful countryside.
Over time and throughout this process, we hope to take this broken down, neglected landscape and give it a new look with hard work, blood, sweat, and tears at times. Seeing the opportunity contained within its boundaries and as we provide the care and investment required to make it fruitful again. Scott and I are also living testaments of this type of restorative work in our personal lives.
When it looks like all is lost or life has rendered hope useless, our desire is that you will see hope is never gone, despite your current condition. There is hidden pearl potential in any opportunity in life, even in chaos or crisis. Come follow along!

Work on the main Farmhouse and view of one of the Cold cellars. This is a Foursquare Style Home, popular in the early 1900s. This property was home to a tenant farmer, owned by a leather maker from Philadelphia, PA. We seek to restore the farm to become a working homestead. We are replacing one window at a time, while ensuring the structure is reinforced.
Process and Purpose:
Process is the steady path that turns dreams into reality: the repeated steps, intentional design and grit that complete work. Purpose is the reason those steps matter—the intention that shapes choices, fuels effort and creates progress. Together there is rhythm: process provides discipline and structure; purpose gives clarity and meaning. Clear process inspires purpose; strong purpose makes process intentional. Both keep work grounded, progress visible, and results aligned with vision.
